It'd be great to have a one stop shop like that here.

I've noticed in the last week or two that there's been a few times when a member (more than one has been doing it) has engaged in 'suggestive selling' which is considered irrelevant content on the forums that are still open for posting and some of it has flown in the face of the temporary non-selling rule in place.

This stops today. One post was edited this morning - the next gets deleted.

Forum 3 will be back soon and the changes to it are being worked on over the Queens Birthday long weekend. Everyone will just need to wait until this forum is open again before advertising anything for sale. This includes making mention of one's own website that is known to offer things for sale.

As part of the upgrade to the Wanted and For Sale forum, there will be work carried out on the site on Saturday, 22nd June and Sunday, 23rd June. There may be one or two brief interruptions to the site whilst this work is being carried out, however no lengthy downtime is planned. You may also see new forms linked from the original "Post in this forum" link. Please do not attempt to use these new forms - they are for my use only during the development phase.

I appreciate everyone's patience whilst this work is being carried out. Hopefully once completed there will be a better experience for everyone in this particular space.

Some more work will need to be carried out on the Wanted and For Sale forum, as per the post above. Accordingly, this work will be carried out on the weekend of the 13th and 14th July. Please read the post above for details on what may occur and when.

Work is being done on Forum 3 tonight. There should be no disruptions but some test posting will occur. Please ignore it. To assist, 'new post' highlighting has been turned off for that forum only.

Due to recent coding changes in preparation for the relaunch of Forum 3 - there is an intermittent bug causing the prefix "WANTED:" to appear in subject lines in new threads. It is okay to ignore this as the appearance of this will assist with diagnosis. It is only supposed to appear in Wanted and For Sale forum postings.

Again, okay to ignore and I will edit where necessary, though members can use their edit buttons if they want it gone immediately.

UPDATE: Bug should be fixed now.

On Saturday, 28th September, there will be further work carried out on Forum 3, Wanted and For Sale. There should be no disruption to the other forums but some when the forum is under test you may notice some posts made. It is okay to ignore them.

On the morning of Saturday, 5th October, access to Vintage Radio will be disrupted for about an hour whilst some tables are added to the database to support the new format for the Wanted and For Sale forum. This disruption will affect the forums only and the newer portion of the site, which runs from a separate database will remain online. It is expected that this work will take place between midnight and 02:00 but will be for a duration of about one hour.

Later on Saturday, related work will continue on the site but hopefully with no disruptions.

Due to me being called in to work last night, the work above has not gone ahead. It is rescheduled for this Sunday night between 22:00 and midnight.

Is this why all the images from the forum index have disappeared?

The site has had access problems for a few days now but with some trial and error to block a flooding attempt things seem to have settled down - for now. None of the work done over the weekend contributed to this, as it was just some minor tweaks to the database to support the changes to Wanted and For Sale.

I hope to complete the work for Wanted and For Sale this weekend. With this in mind, there may be times when there appears to be activity on Wanted and For Sale when there is none. This will just be testing work, which can be ignored.
