Can anyone help me identify the Year of manufacture for the Kriesler 11-20?

It's a BC & Shortwave "Plum Pudding" Style one a-la this pic.

Thanks.

G'day Tangfish,

I believe they were made in 1950.

I'll tidy up your first post when I get a tick as I want to do something as an upgrade to the forums. It seems I have forgotten to include what is known as forumcode here and also forgotten to document what code does what. I'll sort this out over the weekend, hopefully.

Back to the radio for a sec, these rarely come with the delicate fretwork intact which makes these a fairly valuable set if in good nick.

Thanks Brad, I managed to track down a bit more info on it's age, I've heard 1950, 1949 and 1948. It appears the 11-20 is in the 1948 AORSM so I'm guessing that's the year. It wouldn't appear in the AORSM before it was made would it?

Yes all the fretwork is intact, I've seen plent where it wasn't... It's a lovely radio and I'm very happy with it.

Don't suppose you could make it so we could edit our own posts could you?

Cheers

Oh.... I've also got a bit more info on it and some of my other radios on my own little webpage.

Head on over to VINTAGE WIRELESS. I've even put a link back to your dating radio's article Brad.

G'day again,

I didn't get a chance to make the promised changes though there is a bigger and better plan on the horizon - over the next month or so I will be giving the whole site a new interface. This will include a better arrangement for the main site menu and some extra functionality on the forums. I will also be adding the ability to comment on articles I place on the front page, similar to a weblog-type website - all accessible by existing memberships which will carry over. More will be said regarding this in the next week or so.

I've fixed up the colour of the link and added your site to the links page here as well.

Brad.
