It goes without saying that the last year or so has proved to be trying for us all here on Vintage Radio. With site unreliability and a recent need to shift the site to a commercial webhost being at the top of the list.

With that in mind however, the next year should be a good one. So far the new server has proven to be good, as has the service by the company that runs it. I do lose a bit of freedom with regard to what appears on the site and also with site structure and URL structure - these are the luxuries one can only have when they own and run the entire operation - but the loss of these things isn't a big enough issue to create problems for us in the future.

One thing we all do need to keep in mind though is that because the site is back on a commercial webhost, what we put in our comments needs to be carefully considered. Their acceptable use policy (which I must adhere to at all times) is a bit stricter than anything I have required of members in previous years. This will not affect most of the comments here but some may require a clean up. VR's AUP document will also change to reflect the new requirements and I will tackle this early in 2019, once the hassles that Christmas brings are over with.

Apart from a more reliable vintage radio website, other things to look forward to in 2019 will include the RadioFest, to be held next September in Canberra.

Without further delay, I wish all members and guests to Vintage Radio a Merry Christmas, a safe break from work and a happy new year.

Brad, thanks again for finding a solution under trying circumstances. Some users here may forget, or not be aware, that you do have a 'real job' and that you carry out all of this work in your limited spare time.

All the best for the Christmas break and I hope you manage to have some 'quality' time off.

Thanks Brad, for all the effort, you put in this, the labour of love you have for the site and the VR community, that frequents the site.

And to the family on the VR site, Merry Xmas and It's going to be a great 2019... Enjoy the time to relax and have a break away from the routine, or maybe tackle that next project.
Thanks for all the assistant people have given me over the year...

If you have to work through the break, Enjoy the relaxing drive to work on the quite roads, and the chance to get work done with out all the usual interruptions, works for me.
