I built two of the July 2007, Silicon Chip Nixie tube clocks and they worked fine initially. After a few months some elements in some of the Russian IN-14 Nixie tubes stopped glowing. Replaced tubes several times and the same thing happened over time. They are very impressive when working though.

Gee, a couple of months is not much.
The ITT tubes in my counter were used every day for about 10 years and they still light up on test today.
I have 165 volt applied to the tubes and there is a current limit resistor between them and the 7441 chips of 33k.

I built the 78 Version counter & still have it & likely the paperwork hoarded. with other instruction manuals etc. Even have the delivery docket for the Farms 1958 MKII Zephyr and it (still registered).

The counter I have did have issues, it was supplied with a dud chip and the High Frequency chip & circuit tended to be an issue and never really worked. It has a digital display & one unit of the 7 is dodgy. So it is possibly earlier, albeit I remember a clock more recent than this.
