For the benefit of those heading to the Melbourne auction this Saturday, there is a catalogue available. Apparently the list has been updated so it is worth another look, for those who read it yesterday.

As was mentioned in an e-mail, the HRSA site is undergoing some changes. Some pages are back but others return a 500 error, no doubt caused by missing files that still require work.

On another note, I am looking forward to the 2019 Radiofest. It's a shame we can't have that on every year, tough every second year is certainly better than not at all. Smile

Pity it doesn't shift around capital city locations, too.

Well looks like I will get to meet you all there as I will be there with whistles on. I am hoping to have my AWA C54 running and on display. Thats mine in the photos on radio museum.

It'd be lovely to have one in Sydney, that's for sure.

Hopefully the whistles won't be coming from the AWA C54. Smile

It looks like the new HRSA site is underway. It is showing in the ACT activities for next year that RadioFest 2019 will be on the weekend of the 20th - 22nd September. Plenty of time to save some pennies for the big occasion.

The new/temporary domain name may not have fully propagated yet.

Try https://hrsa1.com/

It's good to have the site back again -- albeit with links that are still invalid -- but it could really do with a rework by someone with website design skills. It reminds me of WWW pages in the early 1990s.

Web design is one thing I've never been good at. There's very few people who can do both the back end code and the site layout well. Most are good at one or the other.

I don't mind the simpler layout and it's good that the new site isn't framed. Frames went out of vogue before Sydney hosted the Olympics and that's coming from someone who's made his fair share of framed websites. Framed sites do have some benefits but they aren't compatible with any form of SEO strategy - ie: making a search engine crawl and archive the site.

For the same reasons, the buttons should disappear. Text links are far better for SEO purposes than buttons and the larger a website is, or appears to be in an electronic sense, the better the search engines like it. That said, I'm not here to be critical and once all the content has been put back on the site, attention should be directed towards ergonomics and a common theme for all pages.

True, and none likely to be in the volunteer category that the HRSA depends on.

Agree.
