I have an update on the status of the new forums but first I'd like to bring to everyone's attention that my sixth sense informs me that tensions amongst some of VR's members seems to be rising. I don't particularly want to know what it is about and nor do I really care at the moment as I have too many other things to give consideration to at the moment so all I will say in response is that I am trusting that all parties to whatever issue exists will exercise some self control and keep any unsettled business off the forums. I am hoping that this is all I need to say on the matter.

Again, I do not want to know details - it is not my job to adjudicate or take sides.

As far as the new forums are concerned, these are now up and running but some modification work does need to be carried out. My thanks goes out to the anonymous 'test team' who is helping me to get things right before launch date. Please note that a launch date is still not yet final. When this is known to me, the VR community will be the next to know. Wink

Aside from this squabbling lot.

There seems to be a serious issue with Firefox (for not the first time) & this forum especially with login (for not the first time either) IE seems to not have this issue (which is where I am now as it works)

Critical information needed: What version of Windows are you using and what version of Firefox?

Meanwhile, some time back I mentioned that I couldn't login using Firefox. In the end I had to revert to a release of FF prior to V52 at which point FF developers removed NPAPI support. I don't know how that change caused problems with this site's login screen but until I reverted I could not login. At the time I was using an XP-Pro machine -- which subsequently died.

I now use a Windows 7 machine and the latest version of Firefox without those problems.

I am hoping that this is all I need to say on the matter.

Looks like your hopes are in vain, as I see one side really going in hard with the mud-slinging.

Brad, please put an end to it.

Any reply at all is a reply. I've deleted all comments aside from the original ones. I hope this is the last of it. As said previously, I don't have the time to be a referee and in response to e-mails received from several people last night, I will be taking no further part in it, aside from extra enforcement action if it becomes needed.

According to the system it's Windows 8 6.3 9600

Firefox just updated to 59.02 may as well have just changed 1 to 2: That did naught it still has the login issue.

Having IE "Keep me logged in" is not the issue.

I have had issues with Firefox & a Radio station where the feedback form would not "submit" as the radio button to submit was missing?

Unbelievable, but when just changed to IE, it was actually there?

Getting to a few of these companies to ask about the issue on their website is like stepping onto a carousel as they are clearly designed to be useless.

Like the Mens shed has an older HP computer of Vista era, naturally finding info online to say yes or no to it having a way driving the audio on HDMI (which it currently won't) on a new high definition TV; Is like pulling teeth.

I am not seeing any issues running Firefox 48.02 on a Mac running 10.7.5.

I can log in and post no problems. Also for some strange reason I cannot get any further updates from Firefox as it seems to think the version of Mac OS is too old.

Only problem I see since the update is that there is an image missing on the front page...The second one from the LHS is just blank. Is that as it should be??

Lindsay

That's how it is, yep. Soon, I will be ditching that design and giving the front page a content refit. The way it is at the moment would require a lot of ongoing input from the webmaster to keep the front page refreshed. I want as much of that to be as automatic as possible.

This won't happen before the new forums come online though. All available time is being put into that.
