Hello all,

Last night I was locked out of this site and every time I tried to log on ,It would just say unregistered user?
So naturally the next step would be to contact the administration!!
I soon found out that this is not possible if your not logged in??
There in no working email contact available .
I find this to be ridiculous.
The lock out happened after I made A post and I needed to correct a typo in the post but access was denied.
Unregistered user.
By 130am I was still locked out and I went to bed.
At 9.30 the next day I was able to log on and when I did the site was not responding and each page would be a blank white page.
I really think that a person should be able to contact or email the administration with out being logged in, if problems occur,, which they are
and do.

Thank you Pete.

I believe that was the case in the past. Maybe a glitch due to the recent changes?

Its just silly,
Lot of the people here know each other,no need for it.
I found it very frustrating because I thought I may loose my user ID. Which I'm known by in many many sites.
People have been calling me vintage pete for 20 years.

Pete

1. You can contact the administrator if you aren't logged in. My address hasn't changed in about six years.
I soon found out that this is not possible if your not logged in??
2. All e-mail addresses have always been hidden to everyone who aren't logged in. I don't think it is ridiculous. It's a forum feature of long-standing and one that has widespread support due to the fact that it helps with blocking e-mail addresses from being spammed.
3. No site access issue will cause you to lose your account. That is one thing I can guarantee.
4. I've asked that new threads do NOT start regarding site issues and will only ask once more before I start deleting such threads. Please confine any queries to the "Server Problems" thread.

With regard to replacing the forums, I've said a few times that this will take time and it will. I'm not putting any deadlines on completion and I will not be hurrying through this process. Even with the schedule I've set for working on this I get very little free time and will simply refuse to change this. I know this sounds blunt but this site came very, very close to closing down for good at the end of last year because I didn't want to go ahead with writing new software. To be perfectly honest I still don't want to. After more than twenty years of building and running websites I've had enough of it and the pitfalls that come with it.
