I am looking for a good Tasma Baby model 1001 case.
Would anyone out there have a good case they want to sell.

Many of those cases have cracked tops because people like to put their hand under the top to carry the radio.

Another common thing is for them to be paint-speckled. They must have been popular with painters.

Yep, mine had paint as well.

Someone before me decided it was a good idea to drill two holes in the top of the case to attach a handle. They also thought it was a good idea to remove the paint by straching the case.

More often than not, that paint is Acrylic. If its on Bakelite the bond is often dot strong as the Formaldehyde destroys it & a fingernail will move it. Check the surface first where it won't be seen, but Metho removes it.

Do not even think about that on a wooden cabinet as Metho will attack "Nitrocellulose" & other finishes.

Thanks Marcc for the tip.
Nearly all of the paint has been removed by somone before me, and they have scratched the case in ths process.

I realise now I should have posted this thread in the wanted for sale section. Oops

Is there anyone out there with a good Tasma Baby case they want to sell.
