If any member or anyone on the forum has a Philips 157 or 177
radiogram/radioplayer/stereogram could you help me with some information
1) does the 157 have 6 or 8 valves. if you have a circuit diagram
does it tell in what year the 157 was manufactured

2 does the 177 have 6 or 8 valves

3 how does either set perform on shortwave

4 if anyone has one, would they be interested in selling it or the chassis

thanks

Hi, 157 has 6AN7, 6N8, 6N8, 6M5. EZ82. Year 1954

177 has 8 valves. 4 in the audio, pre-amp, phase splitter and push pull output. Others are converter, IF, Dectector and rectifier.

Year 1955

Both have shortwave. Dont know how they preform. Not all that well with the lack of RF stage I guess.

Cheers, Graham...
