If you are interested in 1950s vintage studio recording equipment and techniques, then this video clip is for you.

"Inspired by Norman Petty and Sam Phillips, studio owner Dean Amos has lovingly built a perfect recreation of a 1950s recording environment — right down to the dimensions of the pegboard!"

That is SO cool!

I've been to Sun Records a few years back. It's pretty much been gutted of working recording gear and AFAIK isn't (wasn't) being used as a studio.

Last album recorded there was U2's Rattle and Hum. They had to go down the road to Walmart and buy an Akai Portastudio - that's what was used to record the album, it's still there hung on a wall!

I have a copy of Virginia Rocks and also Sun Records with the Rare Recorings of Carl perkins, Orbison, Charlie Rich and presley.
Its got some great old stuff on it of the recordings in south and so has Virginia Rocks.
Well worth checking it out, both are available on CD as well.
Pete

Wow, that is a really cool video, I'd sure love to pay a visit to that studio!
