Nice TV that Astor Plymouth.

I am old enought to have serviced them when they were still in service. Many had poor tuning because of the rubber gromets on which the tuner was mounted had perished and the fine tune knob which pulled-up to engange the fine tune mechanism would not mesh together with the tuner.

The other problem with the Astors was that their Index Rollers tended to wear, so that over time, the detent position of the turret would change, again requiring the set to be fine tuned.

Wayne.
