I'm thinking of doing a restoration on a STC 557, The cabinet is in pretty terrible condition, but is certainly not a lost cause. The radio itself looks pretty good superficially, and the valve line up is fairly easy to source. Getting my hands on a circuit diagram is the issue at the moment. I have found a reference for it in AORSM Volume 5, and I think it may be possible to obtain a copy of this through the NSW library system (have to check with local library on this). Does anyone know of another source - can't see it listed on Mr Chant's website or other places I have looked. Info in general on this radio seems pretty scant. I know it was made in 1946, but not much else. I have seen a very nice example for sale on Gumtree. Does anyone know anything about this model.

Cheers,
