On the night of Wednesday, 14th December I plan on replacing a piece of network equipment which appears to be faulty, and probably at least partly responsible for the problems I am experiencing with my mail server and DNS. This will involve some temporary loss of access to the site. Naturally, the plan is to complete the job as quickly as possible but I am expecting a loss of access period of up to 20 minutes between 21:00 and 00:00, NSW time. If there is an issue with the new equipment the plan is to roll back to that already in place.

This job is not part of a previously announced equipment replacement programme however it is more urgent so it pretty much has to be done as soon as possible.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
