Hello. As I was to cleaning out my garage I found a couple of intercom monitors
branded Sambo. I don't think anyone could get away with branding anything as Sambo nowadays.

I doubt that I will ever see “Love Thy Neighbour” starring, amongst others, Jack Smethurst on television again. I will just have to get the series on DVD.

Wayne.

There used to be a brand of fertiliser called ABO. With appropriate logo.

Cringe!!!

When the makers were challenged about the name (100 years after it was introduced I might add) they said it stood for Always Buy Ours.

Love Thy Neighbour is on one of the Fox channels and also YouTube. At the time of the show's debut it was agreed by Eddie and Bill that the jibes would go both ways otherwise they wouldn't agree to do the show.

Australia's Kingswood Country was a different story with 99% of the stick being aimed at poor old Bruno with it all coming from Ted. By the way, Ross Higgins, who played the role of Ted, died last week.

I always liked watching those shows but I doubt anyone would be game to make something similar these days.

The sole survivor of the pre-PC era as far as food goes, I think, is Coon cheese, which is made by a multinational company these days and that makes it odd that the brand remains - not that I care much. If they changed the brand to white honky snowflake cheese that wouldn't bother me either. There are more important things in life to worry about.

Gollywog biscuits are long gone, replaced with Scallywags.

I could never quite work out how four jealous tigers could end up making a puddle of ghee.

This one however takes the cake. This very un PC named kitchen sink item was sold here in Australia well into the mid 60's.

I have a 78 record that is the same size as a DVD with the song Ten Little Nigger Boys. It would be a very rare record. It's the only one I've seen in that size, with the rest being 10 inches or more. I wish I knew where it was as I'd like to post a photo of it.

A lot of the PC police types often decry how racist Love Thy Neighbour is. If they actually bothered to watch it they would see that the show is about an intolerant bigot making a complete idiot of himself.

Randy Newman's "Short people" is a great bigotry satire.

These were around when I was a kid. Eventually the brand was changed to Bigger Boy.

There is a brand of steel wool these days called Big Boy and it's been around for a while. I wonder if that was a further modification.

Photos uploaded too.

This cut-out toy from Atwater Kent would date from the 1920's - 1930's at a time of minstrel shows being popular.
