Hello, I recently bought this radio for $400 at a garage sale in nothern Sydney. I don't think this is the right value, and so I am just wondering if anyone knows how much it'd be worth by looking at this website http://vintage.valve.radios.googlepages.com/kellogg506

You paid a fair price I think. Radios from the 1920's don't always go for high prices and I think it is because the colour and variety of the 1930s and 1940s appeal more to collectors. That doesn't alter the fact that gear from the 1920s is true landmark radio equipment that should be considered more collectable than may currently be the case.

I have a couple of American coffin sets and one Australian one. All are in fair-good condition but their breadboards need restoration/reconstruction. In working order these three sets, a King (unsure of model), Atwater Kent 'Model 40' and an Astor 'Little Astor', (which certainly ain't little) probably would have a combined value of well over $2,500.00.

Some may not agree, it depends on what one's collecting priorities are I think but personally I think you got a good deal. Wink

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
