 Interesting Clock/Fan

I just thought that this would be of interest to the members of this forum.
Whilst in Dymock's Book Store a few weeks ago I saw in operation a desk fan with working clock display.

An arm with L.E.D.'s on it is pulsed on and of at the appropriate times to build up a picture.
Just like a picture tube.

The down side of the fan/clock is that it is powered from a USB plug, and as I do not leave my computer switched on,
I will have to run it from a phone charger with a USB socket. It retains its memory when disconnected from the power for a short period.
How long it will retain its time setting, I am yet to find out. Time will tell.

The submitted picture does not do justice to the clocks display.
It is much more vivid than my picture.

Oh, and if you are under thirty, ask someone older how to read an analogue clock.

Cool gadget, not much use though in winter time. Not many fans running then.

Great idea by somebody.

There are quite a few versions of these propeller-based clocks out there. It doesn't have to be a fan as such -- just a high speed rotator to allow the visual persistence:
