G'Day Pete, You were spot on Ian has the goods and he wasn't too far away.
If you don't mind sending me any info you have Ian, I would appreciate that, might get Matt, moving on it, shame he lives so far away, we have been buying and selling//swapping TV's between each other for a few years now.
I have a shed full, just trying to get the time to get in the shed to spend some time to work on them.
I can't buy any more TV's Not enough room left in the shed.. although I maybe able to fit one or two into the radio room.....

Cheers
Peter

Fine on the old test equipment Pete, Not sure of the place or where it is.
we did a flying trip to Vic in February, flew in to the airport, picked up hire car and drove to Murtoa near Horsham, then to Meeniyan, then to Maffria and to Leopold and finally back to the airport in 4 days, just to catch up with Heather's brothers scattered around Victoria. hired a Merc only cost us $200 for the four days, brilliant car to drive, relaxed and comfortable to drive on some of the rough m roads around the Gippsland region, had planed to look at some collectable /second hand places along the trip, but didn't really get the time.

Hello Pete ,
Yes I like Victoria and think its a great State and for my likes and needs I feel its the best state to live in or near , Although I can't say too much because I'm on the other side of the River !! It has some really positives about it ,,Its full of old stuff ! and its cheaper ! Plus Melbourne is a very happening city these days and full of Life ,I'm from Sydney and Melbourne is far more of happening place now.
I like Albury , But I like to go to Vic and Melbourne often.
The amount of old stuff is what I love about it ,!!

Now that should have gone on to youtube. although a good vintage merc, with all the vintage radio and TV stuff would have been better.

I had the 1952 pontiac, and I had organised two jota "Jamboree of the Air" Sites. basically amateur radio operators give their time and radio gear, for scouts and guides to talk to each other around the world, we did a bit of ATV "amateur television" transmissions between each site.

But for the frequencies in use 1.2 GHz we needed some gain, so I had to take along a home made two meter dish, which sat on the roof racks on the pontiac, think blues brothers with the huge speaker on the car and we got very similar responses.

I could have hired a little run of the mill hire car, but wanted some comfort, for almost the same price, no brainer really.

I like my old bmw e30 was a fun car to drive, had the timing belt let go on the way home form work, can't get motivated to work on cars any more. Had a BMW e53D X5 for around 5 years, bought it second hand, brilliant car, was getting around 6.9 l/100km, had a brilliant turning circle and great for towing. we do around 1000 to 1500km a week traveling to work. we now have an LDV t60 ute, had it for a year and a half and around 60000 on the clock so far, very impressed, I talked to a few people that owned courier companies and have gone across to LDV vans, apparently the purchase cost, running cost and reliability had them replacing the the vans they run over time with the LDV..

Bit different to the early stuff from China.
