.ghostwhowalks,

It seems you are posting all over the place! Smile

I replied about the GN model in your first post on the front page of the forum back on Feb 19

Again, if you "unhide" your email address in your member profile, I'll send you what I have on the GN.

This looks sporadic. I would agree that posting all over the place on the same radio /same fault can lead to much confusion & on some sites is seriously frowned on

"Deluxe Six: Somewhere along the line 6K7 6U7. Not the same animal & 6K7' is rare in Astor and I doubt it belongs.

6U7 is more likely (sharp cutoff RFpentode) Vs a remote cut of RF pentode. Which is why they will not behave the same.

6U7 misbehaves most times when not shielded, so someone may have put a metal 6K7 in to stop the "carry on" if the shield was missing??? Strange things happen.

Pin 1 must be earthed on that metal, not used for a tag of convenience for something else, and that did happen.

Marc

Hello. Got this web site for all makes and models Astor radio and other radio models as well. Go to http://kevinchant.com/. I hope this helps every one with Astor GN radios like me. I found the web site because I was looking for an Astor CNK chassis wooden case radio. Thankyou and have fun. I hope that helps you guys.

I have to agree.

Ghostwhowalks, whilst we appreciate that you need help with a few things and that your questions are more than welcome I have to ask a few favours of you.

1. When posting a query please start a new thread and be sure to post a question only once. This thread dates back something like three years and is very hard for members to locate with the new paging system installed here over Christmas.

2. I've had to run through some of your posts and insert capital letters and punctuation to make them readable. I can appreciate that not everyone is a highly skilled 130wpm typist, in fact most of us aren't. However posts are much easier to read when a little more time is taken to ensure they are written in correct English.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

The Kevin Chant site is proving useful and I did find info on a Valve tester that I had one rat eaten sheet for.

I have actually sent info to Kevin on a few things that were a battle for me to get info on.
