I moved to Albury back in 2005 after 6 years living in Melbourne.

Whilst I love Melbourne I didn't like living there if that makes sense.
Being a Geelong boy originally, the traffic in the city used to drive me crazy.
I hated the extra 2 hours commute every day. Just a waste of time.

I also like it here, I am only 10 minutes from work and I can go home at lunchtime.

The only things I don't like is being landlocked and the cold winters.

I grew up near the beaches in Geelong and the Victorian west coast and miss that bayside lifestyle.

You always see lots of classic cars here in Albury and there is a nice mix of architectural styles

The only hassle is buying old stuff from Sydney or Melbourne and having to get it freighted here

I lived in Albury in 1960 when I was an instructor at the RAEME Training Centre at Bandiana. Had only been married for a year, so still on our honeymoon! Loved the place.

But down the street from there is a Globe building which is a huge old building and it's empty.

That would have been the Globe Hotel where we went for special occasion dinners.

Harold

Hello Harold,
Yes I believe it use to be.
Im not sure what the plan is for it, surely not put up some modern ugly thing I hope.
Great old building

Pete
