The very thing you can't get onto as your computer is not working.
Yes, that's a big problem these days, especially when fibre trunks are dug up, etc, so the magazine is the backup -- as long as you can remember where you put it!

Ahh! Senior moments. Although I was told that if you get Alzheimers you get to meet new friends every day.
You also have to put up with call centres. Telstra being highly rated by me, in the putting people off ratings & not understanding customer service.

HRSA activities are listed in Radio Waves.
So, unless you're a member who receives that magazine, you'd never know. Secret society.
Fine.

It's not a secret society, it's an association of members. Anyone can join.
At the Sydney Auctions, only members may bid on items. It's one of the benefits of being a member. Only $40 per annum.

Ah, so the sale is not available to the public.
I thought anyone could attend and purchase if they so wished.
My mistake.
Since I don't want to sign up for any more clubs, there's no point me wanting to attend.

I gave Telstra some stick in one of their surveys last night for a fault on their website which is blocking direct debit from paying my mobile bill. The card details must be correct because it works when I log into their site and press the "Pay Bill" button. It won't work automatically though.
So here is the big test for them, to see if they really take notice of comments in surveys - I wrote "fix your website or lose one customer, your choice". I can't see myself shifting to another provider because the DAS system in the building I work in is only interconnected with Telstra. This system is basically an in-building mobile phone base station to cover internal blackspots, similar to what is installed in train and road tunnels.

That's the Sydney Branch's rule. Can't speak for the ACT Branch.

It was announced at the Melbourne meeting yesterday that Radio Waves is now on its way to our letter boxes and I believe it was mentioned that the October issue will be slightly earlier than usual.
As for club membership, it's like a lot of other things. You pay your subs and you reap the rewards. In the last hour or so I have returned from a weekend in Melbourne, the highlight being attendance at the auction of the Grant Melrose collection. Far from being a secret organisation, they are begging for new members and permit the general public to show up at the auction and become a member on the day. I also attended the meeting as I've never been to one before - only making it to auctions in the past.
Membership of a club/society as well as being a member of a site, such as this one, pretty much compliment each other.

Living in Tasmania, I miss out on all the personal contacts and auctions.
But happy to be a member, just to receive Radio Waves.

No to attend, you really have to have passed the ''Goat Riding course'' that's regularly conducted - then of course you must have mastered the secret handshake method !
If the right hand thumb is not twisted the right way whence shaking hands well ))) that is it - you don't pass the test then. The Masons are still well and truly alive!
