Well, it has been a busy month or so but I have finally managed to get the new dial pointer on the radio. It's hard to imagine that a moment like this has been thirteen years in the waiting but this radio is once again in a condition that makes it a worthy display item.

AWA Radiolette Mantel Radio

A better picture will be uploaded when the sun comes out at the same time I have my camera at hand. A mobile phone photo in Sydney's recent overcast weather doesn't cut it for a radio of this breed.

Here is a better shot of this great radio. The photo was taken a few weeks ago when Sydney still had some sunlight.

Wow that's a completely different colour to what I thought you had. I thought you had a Grey colour Like the 573MA I had for a while.

Agreed. They look like different radios.

I can't quite make it out, is the radio tuned to 2CH ? It would make sense, being the only local AM station of any use.

Yep, 2CH. The actual colour is jade green rather than the soapy green more commonly seen on the Empire State cabinets. This one has a slight imperfection at the top left of the speaker grille (hard to see here) but all in all, for $80 I got a bloody good radio.

Going back through the photos, I think the most accurate colour is the one where the radio features in the display cabinet, with five other coloured sets. Hard to believe all the photos are of the same radio, though most were taken with different cameras up to a decade apart and some in poor light.
