Cannot receive Telstra bigpond emails.
Anyone else having problems? I can send but having trouble receiving. Finally got the Samsung phone going however still won't open some attachments. The Ipad says user name or password incorrect it was all fine yesterday.
I get so frustrated with this crap. It is impossible to talk to anyone went through what checks it came up with all OK.
Internet working have turned modem and NBN box off and on again. I just get so stressed with this nonsense.
Does anyone have a phone number that connects to a real person that speaks English I can understand.
Regards Jim

Well it all has all come good. It is a case of them denying they had a problem in the first place the Ipad had no problem either now. I know I should not get stressed with this stuff. I just can't help myself. I have several friends that don't even have an internet connection or a smart phone I am sure they will live a lot longer, or at least it will seem longer! I was about to start swinging from the light fittings. Need a cup of tea a Bex and a good lie down.
Regards Jim

Telstra are always in denial when their network crashes. I have a Bigpond account and the only spam I get comes in on my Bigpond email.
None or very rare on Gmail.

I've had issues for the last 3 weeks where the "IMAP" server would run very slowly or not at all.
Still waiting for someone there to reboot the box.

Life was so much simpler in the good old days when valve radios ruled.

Ahh yes! We are just insignificant little tadpoles floundering in in Telstra's "Profit before People" Bigpond.
Mine went feral a few weeks back, so there is some thing seriously wrong there aside from management.

Careful Jim. The cup of tea and the lie down are fine but Bex Powders will rot your kidneys!

Hey JimB!
I use Telstra for all services and get used to just doing an eye roll when something goes wrong.
Go away and come back later! The network always gets fixed whether you make a noise or not, because much bigger people than you or me start the screaming!
Cheers, Fred.

Does anyone have a phone number that connects to a real person that speaks English I can understand.
For the record, this from Telstra's website:
QUOTE: Call 13 2200 and say “complaint”. You'll be transferred to a dedicated complaints handling team. You can call us 24×7

Now if anything reflects the crazies like in the bureaucracy and a company with the same knowledge base as Chairman Dan when it comes to Bio security this mob are close to Number 1 for bad. For a communications company, that word and them represent the greatest practical example of the word "oxymoron", you can find.
You ring wanting a specific department; You are then confronted with this "Auto-Moronic" machine that will ask & then direct you to some department that you did not want. I have NBN, and a Landline because, unless the mobile (and its been like it from day one of digital) is on an antenna & even then could not get 4G so its locked to 3G it won't work, or drops out.
It seems that it has not entered the small vacant space separating their ears that just because I have a landline number, does not mean its connected to NBN: Its copper wire? One needs at least one out of three that works. Instead of the moronic machine, perhaps a real person. Alternatively:- For.....
Billing: press #1
Faults: NBN #2
Copper wire #3
To change to: IInet press #6 Optus #7.....
For customer service: Your dreaming: Hang up.

Telstra has, for a long time, offered an anti-spam package for e-mail accounts. The downside is that customers have to rent their quoit out on Oxford Street to be able to afford it. What they do not understand is that if they rolled it out automatically, across the board, the data their mail servers are sending and receiving would be cut by about 80% and the servers' disc space could also be pared back.
Telstra and commonsense have never mixed well though.

"Telstra and common sense have never mixed well though." From here that should read "never been apparent".
Left hand does not know what the other is doing. Prime example of costly waste. They came along and laid cable from Bundalong to the local RAX & then onward through my place. This cable cannot handle data. In probably full knowledge, or ignorance, of the local cable and having a cable layer that could handle more than one coil, they did not run in a new local one. Alternatively, they could have at least backed up and run in a new length of local cable (statute mile) whilst the machinery was here.
The next thing was cable run along the fencing wire, through culverts etc for more than a mile as the local (lead) cable failed. Naturally if the phone was dead, you went along the fence to the joint the cows chomped (love PVC) and re-join it to make a phone call.
These clowns obviously came from the same school as the ones in the Victorian & NSW Government creating the C-19 fiasco's.
