Well tomorrow I can tell you how it all works,
I have a bug so they have sent me off to do a drive through covid 19 test.
It works like this, After getting sick they phone you up and ask you a million Questions and than send you to do the drive through test and after the test you stay at home in isolation until the results come back which takes 2 to 5 days
No fries or coffee in this drive through apparently!
So that's how it all works and I will tell you more tomorrow in case your next to be tested.

Jimb, thank you
.
I don't think I have that virus, just they want everyone who has a flu to get tested so they can control the coronavirus.
It's possible I have it I guess ,but I dont think I would have it.

Hi Jim,
Not till Saturday. They are apparently overwhelmed with people getting tested. They do phone me most days though and yes ,my understanding is it's not fun,but needs to be done.... I don't feel too bad and I still think I just have a flu ,but I'm in isolation.

Ok, so the drive through takes about 10 minutes including the questions.
They have to get past the nerve so I hope you don't have to get tested or get the virus, best not say too much ,you can read between the lines! Hmm so then they phone with the results between 2 and 5 days...

Pete

I have some idea a couple of years ago I had a hernia that strangled off my bowel and the end of it went gangrene not nice. Anyway the first bit was to drain my stomach contents this was done by ramming a length of nylex tubing into my nose and pushed down into my stomach an extremely nasty procedure it remained there for nearly a week.
Anyway sounds like we both survived the ordeal. I don't suppose you felt like driving home after that!
I hope you are feeling much better Pete.
Regards Jim.

Thanks Jim ,,
That sounds bad Jim , I have a Heria too and I keep putting the Op off and I'm going to keep putting it off !
I got it a few years ago in Asia when I caught a bug and could not stop coughing for weeks and so I got a Hernia from it under my belt ..

Hi Pete your Hernia may be not dangerous but if a piece of bowel gets trapped like Jim you will wish you had it fixed.
I have had 3 hernia fixes, left centre and right!
No bowel trapped thank goodness.
Not a big deal nowadays, usually keyhole day surgery.
You may also benefit by wearing an elastic "binder".
I wear one to support all the surgery affected muscle groups and scar tissue.
Can be the difference between misery and pain free living as you get older.
Fred.

Hernia's can be a problem especially if yo are trying to get a job and there is a medical. RH was an accident at 16 , because of the way it was done in the sixties, it let go with a bit of help after 44 years and did not get fixed for almost a year later. At the same time the massive one in the middle that I was born with got fixed. One was keyhole then the hole was expanded to sort the middle one.

Things were made a bit awkward by adhesions from the first one. The appendix also went in the first op as there was a tumour there. The middle never gave trouble other than the sausages started to move out & I was rolling drums & doing farm work. Doctor, neighbour told me not to do any of that sort of thing for two years to let it settle & stay with the lighter stuff for at least six months.

Ah Brad............Everybody should have the joy of having some major surgery.
Nothing like having your chest opened so they can have a tinker with your heart and swap out a few pipes and stuff. They whip a Black and Decker down your sternum and open you up so everbody can get their hands in and fiddle under the bonnet! Yes your rib cage gets a set of Bunnings spreaders on it. Then when they close the bonnet they use bits of fencing tie wire to hold it all together. Stands out real good on X-Rays! For all of that you are on an external heart pumpo thing cause your heart is dead in the water and a big fat tube is stuck down your throat hooked to a air pumpo thing so you dont die. Bliss!
Thats just heart work, how about when they open you up and cut out sundry bits that have got a bit manky with cancer...no worries!
Bit of a fry up by the radiation boys kills off any left over bugs leaving you with a few things that dont quite work like they did when you were born. No worries! That leaking out of the rear discharge vents is easy fixed with a bit of engineering, install a valve here and a control cuff there, wowee manual control and you can always put a drip tray on the floor........................
All of that leaves you with a body criss crossed with scars, scar tissue stitched to scar tissue, oh, yes, Marc's adhesions here and there just to give you a bit of hurry up with lancing pains or endless throbbing discomfort if you cough or bend the wrong way.
But it all heals up and you press on.
Oh, yes, arthritis, thats the dark areas on the 3T scan in all my joints and the funny lumps in the bones, and did I mention the bone to bone knees?
NOW you just cannot wait to get to 70 or 80 can you?
Cheers, Fred.
