Hi, I searched hi and low for any cct on Astor Mickey radio. I am sure that model is M3B. I recognised the radio from the "Just Astor" book. Valve train is 6X4, (?) ,6AD8, 6BE6,
This model is too late for AORSM inclusion (1953 I think). Can some one tell me what the (?) unknown valve is likely to be. Any circuit diagram of that model range would be welcome as I dont think that there will be too much change between models. I can supply pics if necessary

Regards
John

I scanned through every Astor circuit that I have and the only one that came up with your valve line up was : Astor HNQ: 6X4 - 6AQ5 - 6AD8 - 6BE6.
Hope that helps.

Hi, Rudy, I have obtained a schematic that also uses these valves and have found a stamped model number on the Inside of the chassis. PKserNo. Reason I said M3B is because the "Just Astor" book has a picture of the set and labels it as a m3b ??? Correct circuit is model PK
I have replace the caps and it works reasonably well. Is there any chance of getting a copy of an HNQ schematic. I would think with the same valve line up the cct should be almost identical

Cheers RH

Rudy, I am not happy with giving out my email address on any forum. Is there some way on this site that I contact you. Most forums have a method of members to contact other members without showing the Email addresses in the open forum. I cannot find it here , perhaps the moderator can help out here?
Cheers John

Dear all,

Many forums allow private chats between members however this one currently doesn't though it is a planned addition (along with many other features) in the near future.

Soon this website will be replaced with a brand new one and with this will eventually see the forums gain many new features. As I am the only one involved with development and because I work full time, this project is taking a little longer than expected.

At the moment there is no way of handing out e-mail addresses without them being seen by unregistered users. Additionally, I don't recommend posting e-mail addresses on any forum, at least on the pages that everyone can see, because web-crawler robots owned by spammers can read the addresses and log them for later use in spam attacks.

Again, the new forum will have features that help prevent this happening.

I do appreciate everyone's patience in the mean time. The new forums will reflect the suggestions put forward by many of the users here.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
