Hi Folks!

Just looking to recloth my old Kriesler 11-97 and wondering if anyone here has recently done one? I have pulled a cabinet apart for the old speakers 10+ years ago but I have forgotten how the cloth is retained on these as there doesn't appear to be an easy way to remove the front. I think the gold "border" was nailed on but I honestly don't quite recall.....just trying to minimise any damage.

Thanks!!

Incase it helps anyone the gold perimeter of this radio is nailed on separately to the cloth material and removes separately.
The cloth is attached to a seperate Masonite sheet nailed with just a few small nails to the cabinet which - I assume - can be removed without touching the gold trim although tricky to remove without snapping the sheet so needs to be wiggled free slowly.

The cabinet of this one isn’t the best & my older 11-95 cabinet is better so I’m just going to keep that one - the 11-97 chassis fits with just a bit of drilling for the “eye” valve.

I haven’t worked out how to remove the cloth panel on that one though as it’s a different design with a different gold border setup….but I’m pretty sure the panel will pop out the same way if I’m game to try - it’s been recovered before so isn’t as bad but I guess it’s always a mystery how it was reattached as who knows what / how many nails they’ve used or how easily they will come free - probably a better practice to use a knife and cut away the old fabric first to see.
