I have recently purchased this radio from e-bay. It has a transfer on the back which states "Arthur J Veall". I have only the chasis. I was wondering if any one has a circuit or any other info on this radio. Bowler

Radiomuseum lists both a model 493, a basic 4 valve console, and a model 693 more up market 6 valve console with 2 IF stages.
My guess is that the 593 is a 5 valve somewhere between these two.
Made and advertised by Stromberg Carlson, so probably retailed by Veall.

Veall was a wholesaler of lots of things according to1937 Trade Annual. Stromberg Carlson and Radiola sets were peddled along with lots of other stuff.

Are you sure it is a model 593?

The Mingay's Radio Diagram and I.F. Index only lists Audiola models A492, A493, A592 & A693.

Audiola model 693 is the same as Stromberg Carlson model 633.

The last digit indicates year of manufacture.

Hi, the radio is definitely a model 593 as stamped on the chasis. The valve lineup is 57,58,57,59. and 80 rectifier. Hope this helps. bowler
