 Identify an RCA 'RADIOLA' set?

Last century around 1960, I bought a RCA consol set for 8 shillings and 20 years later sold it for $400!
I really regret selling it now, but what a profit!
On the weekend I came across a couple of faded to white photos.
I've photocopied them to bring up a bit of detail.
Then I made up a little article describing what I bought.

So my question is what was it ?
A RCA radio set of some model, or a home build, using to hand pieces?
Over to you vintage RCA experts if any are still alive!

Can't help with identifying your radio, but I can agree with some of the other things in your story.

My parents bought a real dump back in the 50s, where I grew up. They were poor as, and with a whole tribe of mouths to feed it was a struggle. Still, they somehow managed. That house was eventually purchased by the council at a (at the time) very reasonable price, and it was torn down and turned into a park, which it still is today.

I also visited the Sallies place at Tempe as a teenager, looking for valve bits.

If anyone wanted to offer $600 for any of my radios, I'd agree in a flash!
