Hi,
I was given a couple of "farm fresh" radios recently and I am having difficulty identifying model numbers for 2 of them. Details are below. Any suggestions??
Also, I was trying to download a circuit for a Kriesler 11-28 from Kevin Chant site, but timed out several times. Can we still download circuits from this site??
Precedent
Radio and Record player(?), bakelite case, no. 31516,
5 valves 5Y3 GT/G, 6V6 GT/G, 6AR7-GT, 6SK7GT, ECH33.
Electrosound
Radio (Broadcast and Short Waves, 2.5 to 7.5 and 7.5 to 22Meg) and Record player, no. 50380
6 valves Missing, 6AN7, 6SK7, Missing, 6V6GT, 6V6GT
There is a distinctive white marker which moves up and down with the Band change knob (right side on photo).
1 photo coming.
Web searching suggests that it maybe Model 63P or 63Q.
Thanks,
Ian

I downloaded the 11-28 document with no problem and have emailed it to you.
No luck identifying the Precedent -- info seems to be a bit scarce on that brand.
Electrosound, try these:
63P mod (1950) 5Y3GT, 6AN7, 6SK7GT, 6SQ7GT, 2x6V6GT
63P(Q) (1952) 5Y3GT, 6AN7/ECH35, 6AR7GT/EBF35, 6SJ7GT, 2x6V6GT

Download received, thanks GTC.
Further searching revealed AORSM references to 3 most likely matches for the Electrosound.
63P AORSM '48 page 116
63P mod AORSM '49 page 141
63PQ AORSM '52 page 105
Does anyone have access to these circuits? Am I able to beg, borrow or bribe a copy of any of these circuits?
Cheers,
Ian

Thanks GTC. Printed and quite readable.
Will check diagrams against circuits as soon as I am free of grandparenting duties .....

Ian

I have the same model Precedent tablegram complete with the original Garrard 78 rpm record changer. Please let me know if I you require any additional information about the Precedent tablegram.

Re Electrosound radio/gram
Model 63P(Q) is an update to 63P. 63P and 63Pmod circuits appear to be the same.
According to Serial numbers I should have a 63P. But in reality I have a 63P with a 63P(Q) front-end.
That is, the 63P front-end (ECH35) has been replaced with a 6AN7. Circuitry also has minor changes. The IF valve and circuitry are as per the 63P.
I am confident that these changes/updates were done in the factory as the alterations to the chassis, smaller valve base, wiring and components all look very original.
GTC, the circuit diagrams certainly made this much easier ..... thanks again.
Cheers,
Ian

Hi Samt,
Very nice looking unit .....
I am not sure what I am going to do with this set as yet, as I have a few awaiting attention ...... with another on the way ..... Hammarlund 100a ..... in unknown condition.
However, my first step is to obtain a circuit diagram. Do you have one? And can I impose upon you for a copy??
Cheers,
Ian

I found the circuit for the Precedent tablegram when I last serviced it a few years ago in the Australian Official Radio Servicemans Manuals at the Hobart State Library. I recently requested to access the manuals to photocopy circuits for the Precedent and other radios in my collection, but was told by the librarian that the AORSM had been withdrawn and donated with other old books to third world countrys. I will ask at the sound preservation association of Tasmania if I can access and scan the circuit from their copy of the AORSM manuals. Regards, Sam

Hi, Ive acquired a Precedent radiogram,Late 1940s?, with an updated Garrard Turntable,Model 1000, (Which was my interest)but looking at the Radioguts, its seems to have been looked after. I understand the ECH33, was only around a year or so,therefore with the same valve line up as the Table Model,ECH33, 6SK7GT,6AR7GT,6V6GT/G 5Y3GT.Just wondering if you have found anymore info, Year, etc.I have a copy of the AORSM on CD, but nothing there, That I can see.Just wondering
