Well Happy Father's Day Fathers
I decided to lie and tell Dad I'm working overtime today (Saturday) go get this:
Image Link
I was going to hide it at my Sister's house till Sunday, but couldn't be bothered after the trip to get it.
Nice fellow selling off consoles planning ahead for the possibility of moving to a smaller place.
Not an Aussie this one (Philco), but very nice

OMG thats beautiful...Iam not into consoles and wouldn't have the room if I did
but that I think is exceptional... Wonderful Gift Art
As much as I love Aussie I can appreciate any good looking Radio.
Happy Father's Day to all you Fathers out there
Thanks for the Preview Art

Thanks DJ, he loved it though he never actually listens to radio
That was actually the seller's photo, but it is indeed that nice.
The same fellow has an AWA Radiolette lowboy console I'm keen on for me,
so maybe in a month or two I'll treat myself as well.

Welcome Art
Yeah Oddly I never listen to them my self of late (like the last many years) but since getting some Valve jobs and remembering when I was young I've been listening to them and enjoying it..sadly here I cant seem to find any music stations so it seems its the ABC and Talk mostly..still maybe a decent Ant will help me get a few more stations in
Anyway I guess having something so lovely he may just re-aquire a taste for listening, you never know..
thought if he has hearing problems I guess that can turn people off... I do and sometimes silence is golden as it becomes a chore to try and hear things..
Hope you get that radio to bring some happiness to your heart too...happiness is an ingredient sadly lacking in this world and our lives a lot of the time...
Anyway as GTC said a "very nice gesture" agree

Yeah he does have hearing aids and has to turn everything up.
I've got an Airzone console I love, not as nice as this, but my attachment is probably because I did it up myself.
So hopefully Dad won't have his eye on mine as much now!
He was onto me to move it out of my radio shack to the lounge, so we both win

Father's Day is a sad day for me, having lost my Dad 3 1/2 years ago, in his memory I have his entire radio workshop from a hobby he loved for over 70 years. I still sit out there discussing things with him, even though it is a one way conversation. I now have back, all the radios I bought him to restore, they are now restored and in pride of place. We both loved consoles even though they take up so much room, I have 8.
That sure is a pretty Console ART.

Sad to hear Airzone, but it's awesome that you are around to continue his hobby for him and keep his stuff together
