Some cars have a plastic tool for this job built in to the fuse holder - so how aware is the industry of this use of the notch on blade fuses?

I could swear blind that I've never seen that on blade fuses here and thought the pins were just straight and parallel but I may be wrong. I've always just used long-nose pliers to get them out.

I guess it depends on the brand:

Also note that the blade extends through to the top and its naturally, alive and can, if not covered, potentially short.

Perfect for quick testing if blown or not.
