Hi there.
I have found photographs of a radio that I am working on at the moment. These photographs were posted on the by a Martin Stewart from Australia on the radiomuseum website.
I've not been able to find any contact details for this fellow. I'd appreciate it if anyone knows him that they could get him to contact me. My email is open in the members area.
I'd like to chat with him about his restoration of the radio.
Thanks
Peter

The last time I contacted Radio Museum for an amendment to a circuit. Protocol was and probably still is (not only with them); is to use the contact details, and explain your bona fides etc. as to why you need to contact the person.
That is how they filter out the time wasters and trolls and others without a life, that the world seems to have too many of. I see they actually nabbed a troll recently ... long way to go.

Let's see how that goes. In my experience, the operator of RM is not very good at communicating. Maybe that has changed.

I have a similar policy here because Internet stalking, whilst not commonly heard about, is very commonplace and at times leads to the committing of crimes against the person being sought. If someone asks for an e-mail address for a member of this site I simply tell them that I am breaching their trust by supplying that information and therefore will not do it.
Site admins are the go-to people for all sorts of queries and it not only takes up a lot of time but they are expected to be adjudicators in disputes, suppliers of personal information and in my case, even to answer questions. Back in the early days when there were only three forums here and everything was still in its infancy I'd get people e-mailing me to try and get answers to technical questions and when I asked why they had not become a member and put their question in the open they'd reply with the most BS excuses imaginable, such as it's embarrassing, or quicker to e-mail or whatever.
As has now been well and truly proven, there's lots of people here with a wide range of experience in all facets of radio repair and restoration. It's definitely quicker to post here because sooner or later the man who knows will answer the question. I have the same problem as everyone else - I don't know everything. So after a while, it was fairer to both the inquirer and the answerer of the question that queries were posted here and not e-mailed to me.
I am just glad that the types of enquiries I just spoke about are rare these days. Not as rare as spammers like the fool that came here the other day but rare enough that it isn't a real problem.

You never know who's watching the site.
Saw that post: There's a few of these morons on Facebook as well. Cannot see what they gain, it won't be kudos, nor respect.
