Yesterday or maybe the day before?
It had a new DJ and he sounded about 15.
It's such a shame that music must be abandoned and replaced with more brain dead sports channels.
These days I mostly listen to Totally 60s Radio Canberra or 2ca and all I can hope for is that 2ca does not do the same thing as 2ch.
I've been listening to 2ch for as long as I can remember.!!!!
Well I hope the ass falls out of the ratings and they go bust!!

Looks like I need to dust off all the tapes I have of 60's music and pipe them through the AM modulator I made!
Vale 1170.

Another one bites the dust. I wish Singo still owned 2GB and 2CH.
That'll pretty much do it for me. I nearly ditched 2CH when they went for a few months under the ident Magic and only stayed because someone saw the ineptitude of the change and decided to revert to 2CH.
Christ only knows what I will listen to now when I am playing one of my radios.

I am currently listening to 2CH here at work via iHeart Radio on a Bluetooth radio.
Back in the day I could of listened to it in Melbourne at night on a real radio with an RF stage. No so these days - too much crud from switch mode power supplies, etc.
2026 hrs: l know a place - Petula Clark.

I note Brad's comment below that story at 7.49pm.
I also see a comment by Peter at 19 Aug 2020 - 8:11 pm ...
QUOTE: For those worried about 2CH I have emailed the station and they have advised it will be continuing in DAB, the web and the 2CH app
All we need now is for someone to rebroadcast it somewhere on the AM band.

Pete: from what I can gather, 1170 AM will become sport 24/7.
The existing 2CH format will be broadcast via DAB, etc. Beats me how that works given that they say the current CH format loses $2 million a year.
Can't figure it out at all. I think we don't yet have the full story.

GTC ...
Hell will freeze over before I tune into sport ! This will upset many people because 2ch has a following for years and has not been about sport ..
It made me think day of how long I have I have been listening to AM staions ,,Well my first radio was a Crystal Set I swapped a turtle for it with the Kid up the road when I was a young boy ! Crystal sets were way out of Date when I was a boy in the 70s ,,I had never seen one before , I use clip it to the venetian blinds and lay in bed listening to music .. Gosh I even remember Father Jim on sunday nights where kids would phone up and say ,,Father I have this problem , There is this boy/ Girl etc etc LOL !!
By the way ,,, Turtles alway come home ! so I got the Crystal set and the Turtle !! ..

It looks like I may be kicking my AM transmitter in the guts again and pipe music from the laptop through it. I might 'remake' it with a power supply though instead of depending on ever more expensive batteries.

I have that model, too, however I purchased the power supply option with it at the time.

Turtles always come home
I did not know that. Had to look it up.
I had a crystal set in 1963. It was a birthday present. Bought at Hobbyco for (IIRC) 10 bob. First thing I heard on it was The Beatles. I used to like listening to the radio serials. Back them there were plenty of them on 2UW.
I've never seen again the particular model that I owned. Other guys at the time mainly had the rocket ship type,

... which I thought was great, but I was happy to have a radio.

Yes , There was an old fish pound in the yard in Ryde dad had built and also a huge flat water tank about 3 feet high and the Turtle lived in there,, We had him for years until a stay dog got him . I dont Remember where we got him from .... Probably just wandered into the yard .
