Can identify with the irresponsible Turkeys; Had one come to the Mens Shed, coughing spluttering etc & no consideration for others.
He ended up in hospital, several others got it & damn near ended up in hospital, as I could hardly breath. Fortunately he now resides in a Home for the Terminally Bewildered & does no longer pose a threat to the Shed.

Yep Marc, re #46.
WE really cop the turkeys at the local supermarket.
I know you have problems with wearing a mask, my Barbara has very reduced lung function and feels the same.
HOWEVER if you lived with the people we have around us you would mask up VERY FAST.
Example: In the vegetable aisle last wednesday a "gentleman" cruises up beside us, dont worry about social spacing, handles the lettuces checking each one out for quality and puts them back, then, SNEEZES AhooooooChoooooooooooo over the lot! Wipes the runny nose on the sleeve. We are backing off by this time dont breath in!
"Gentleman" then continues to assess quality of lettuces pulling them out and putting them back.
What can you do about people like that?
They walk around in bare foot or in thongs (in the middle of winter) , hawking and spitting, wiping snot on their hands and then wonder why we get a racial bias and suggest they take a boat back to India where they live shoulder to shoulder and life is cheap, and stay there! Yes there are red neck aussies just the same I know.
All we can do is back off, tighten the chicken wire mask, and move away.
Fred.

Have seen this type too, usually 6' 3" and three pick handles across the shoulders. Haven't given way to anyone since early teens.

Marauding Apes ! Australia has never been short of Marauding Apes .. I Remember as a Boy some areas were just full of them . !!
I use to wonder why any person would play down their intelligence to act dumb,, Often more than what they really are ?? I still dont know why they do it ,But in many cases thats what they are doing ...... Its a culture all of its it own . These days I seldom run into it anymore ,But in my past Ive worked with them , Known them and even had Run ins with them and its like dealing with a brick wall !.

Fred, that gentleman would have been pretty exhausted by the time he repeated his performance around at the grapes , apples and pears etc. . The only way to reduce it would be to have all items sealed in bags and I think they should be. If we buy apples and pears. They get boiling water poured over them first.
Shopping is now a scary business.
Regards Jim.

Anything that looks like it can be handled should be washed. If it can't be washed, or cooked, think twice about it. Even the chairman of the republic here has adequately demonstrated that bio-security is a mystery to the city-centric's.

Apparently it is the avocados that people get anal about. They stand there and squeeze the pus out of a great number of them before picking one they like. It doesn't bother me because I hate the bloody things but for those that do like them and don't mind if they one they buy is only 99% ripe, it is a selfish act in a time like this to handle all the fruit.
They probably should be packaged like light globes and dispensed from a machine - you get the first one that comes out and that's that.

Been lucky here, There has not been a new case of covid for 26 days! So I'm happy about that.
Lots of things you cant buy here now though as the trucks normally come from Vic I'm told.
I was hoping to work on my shed this weekend, but today it's freezing and raining and it looks like it's set in for days.
I've now finished all the frames,it's going to be difficult to carry them down the yard on my own as there 4 metres long and heavy.im thinking I may bolt wheels to it so I can move it or Rollers perhaps..
All good though,it's coming along ok.
