I just received a cream model on the workbench and fixed it up pretty easily.
This one has a even later serial number of 28188!
Silicon diode with two Elna 47μF caps but the others were all ducon wax caps.
Obviously they just used whatever parts they had.
The power transformer has a date code of 1971.

Oh and while this radio doesn't need realignment what do you guys do about realigning a Kriesler which seems to always use a rubber band twisted in with the core and now doesn't easily allow realignment without damage to the cores.

The last 11/99s were made just before the factory was re-jigged to make colour TVs. 1972 sounds about right. The old timers retired then!

I wouldn't touch those IF cores. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

The "youngest" 11-99 we have recorded so far is this one: Serial # 47874 - 2nd July 1974.

I have inserted BurntOut's serial in the list.

You could also throw in sn: 21599
That's the 11-99 I own. It's in the brown style case.I think it's 1969.
I'm shoked they made them until 1974! Is that verified?
I quite like this model of radio in its simplistic nature.
Good performance for only three valves. Although with a 6gv8 and a solid state diode it could be five valves.

If you can find the date on the power transformer to confirm it, and let us know if it has a valve rectifier or silicon, that would be good.

We have 5 of them listed for 1974:

Wow! Nine years of production is pretty remarkable.
Yeah it's a silicon rectifier. I'll hopefully get to the radio soon and find a date code. I know there is one.
I've been running the cream one I fixed and it naturally gets hot on the plastic directly above the 6GV8.
Does anyone know of case warping on these radios?

Well, they just kept on selling so they just kept on making them!

I've seen lots of 11-99s and not one of them had a warped case.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...
