Bizarrely, VIC won't play the game:
QUOTE: People who arrive on an international flight to Sydney will have an extra 10 days added to their 14-day quarantine if they will not agree to be tested, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard told the Sydney Morning Herald on Friday.
But the Victorian government will not make testing compulsory, despite revelations on Friday that 30 per cent of returned international travellers - 5400 people - had refused to be tested in Melbourne's quarantine hotels, two of which have sparked COVID-19 outbreaks.
...
Queensland Health says the state will begin mandatory testing of people in hotel quarantine when they arrive and again once they reach day 11 of their stay. Western Australia already requires all returned travellers to be tested for COVID-19.

Ridiculous ! Should be no test no entry !
Perhaps that's why our information is different because my wife is coming into Sydney and I'm NSW.
The Victoria state government is a mess.

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Annalise Van Diemen, in Melbourne seems more interested in Captain Cook than the plight of virus victims.
Anyone arriving in Australia should be in isolation for a minimum of two weeks and be tested at the start of the 'stay' and again three days before they leave and they shouldn't be let out until a negative result is returned on the second test. The Commonwealth has jurisdiction at airports, so they can do this in any state that refuses to co-operate.

As for VIC, see post #211 above.
Meanwhile, back in Stupidville USA:
QUOTE: New York: A 30-year-old man who believed the coronavirus was a hoax and attended a "COVID party" died after being infected with the virus, according to a Texas hospital.
The man had attended a gathering with an infected person to test whether the coronavirus was real, said Dr Jane Appleby, chief medical officer at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, where the man died.
Appleby said the man had told his nurse that he attended a COVID party. Just before he died, she said the patient told his nurse: "I think I made a mistake. I thought this was a hoax, but it's not."

So the pub at the crossroads gets closed, but not the Casino?
If Gladys had any balls she would have the corona casino surrounded with a "ring of steel".
It is just the same as a cruise ship and right next to where they dock!
Go figure.

Star City copped a $5,000 fine. I am just trying to calculate how much that would hurt one of Australia's largest casinos. Kerry Packer used to walk out of there after a bad night at the blackjack table and throw $10,000 chips to the paupers sleeping rough on the steps.
I just hope they knock this on the head before it gets out of hand. I, for one, don't want to go back into hiding for three months.

And now some has-been "pop star" blows in from O/S.
Does she get put up in the Sheraton for isolation like the rest of the herd, Oh no, SPECIAL EXEMPTION.
Really, GLADYS.
If some faded rich no talent can get exemption why not everybody?
What particular circumstance about this creature (apart from having a "famous" relative and screeching a lot) does this person have?
Get some balls and stop this non-sense!
Fred.

People who game the system always have things fall in their faces later on.
Look back to when Johnny Depp and his wife brought their dogs out here on a private jet. Peter Dutton rightly sent Pistol and Boo packing. Now these pooches are pending a divorce settlement. The way Depp seems to be going he'll top himself before that argument gets settled and the dogs will get to remain together. This is what an excess of money does to people.
UPDATE: If the person in question is Dannii Minogue, it was Anna that let her in. She's staying on the Gold Coast.

I am just wondering why the Commonwealth isn't screening all incomers on a uniform basis. Given that the Commonwealth has constitutional responsibility for who comes and who goes, why isn't it exercising first right of refusal at the border? I am sure that Dannii has the readies to fund a 14 day stay in any hotel she wishes.
