Now they need to stop consumption of bats.
It's all a charade. That 'wet market' had been trading in banned/illegal stuff for eons but the corrupt local officials turned a blind eye to it. Like sly grog shops, gambling joints and brothels, you close one down here and it opens again there. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose la plus.

Ive eaten Dog in the 90s in Asia. I actually didn't know it was dog until half way through the meal . I didn't loose any sleep about it ,what can you do , after all I was the outsider there.

Speaking of lunacy:
QUOTE: A learner driver who allegedly raced through traffic in a three-wheeled car, leading police on a dangerous pursuit at speeds of up to 180kph before crashing into two cars, has been accused of coughing on an officer and claiming he had returned from China.
Police said the stolen car, which was missing a wheel on its right side, was spotted north of Canberra about 8:30am on Friday, tearing along the Barton Highway at an estimated 140kph.
The car, which had allegedly been involved in a police matter in NSW earlier that day, was emitting sparks from the rear, due to its missing wheel.

When 'three wheeled car' was mentioned I thought for a second one of those three wheeled Harley Davidsons or one of those small British cars with the windscreen built in to the driver's door.
Ahh well, the magistrate will love him - he'd better bring his toothbrush to court.

Are you perhaps thinking of the Isetta from Italy?

Believe it or not, yes though I didn't know the name until you mentioned it and I followed upwith a photo search. I can't imagine one of those reaching 180km/h though, except maybe on the Benny Hill Show.

An entrance to one of my local supermarkets is a hard left turn into the driveway, out of the lane against the gutter. It is amazing how high the rear left wheel of front wheel drive cars lifts off the ground as they do that left turn into the driveway. So perhaps not surprising how well they get along without a rear wheel, albeit with sparks.

Most American cars have been front wheel drive for a long time, including V8s. When Holden released the Adventra (basically a 4x4 Commodore wagon) in around 2002 they got the front end from the Buick parts bin but made the transfer box here locally. There's plenty of police chases from Los Angeles where cars lose rear wheels from police laying stingers on the road but the driver just keeps going because due to some quirk of fate the front wheels and tyres remain intact.

QUOTE: "We're defying the rules because the commandment of God is to spread the Gospel," said Tony Spell, pastor at the Life Tabernacle megachurch in a suburb of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He has defied state orders against assembling in large groups and has already been hit with six misdemeanors. Louisiana has become a hot spot for the virus, on Saturday reporting a jump in deaths to 409 and more than 12,000 cases.
Apparently in Louisiana, gospel equates to virus.

I could tell you where he should be made to put those 5,400 rolls. What a ratbag. Should be named and shamed.
