False alarms annoy the firies more than ever before now that they do 24 hour shifts. Water and smoke detectors don't go well together. Thermal ones usually are okay but they aren't permitted everywhere.
Pete, there was another similar storm in 2013. An ATCO shed was bowled over at the railway station and the roof ripped off the picture theatres at Westfield.
They have had their moments up there.

Pete: From The Daily Telegraph on 29 January 2016:
QUOTE: LOCALS remember the destruction wrought by a massive storm that tore through the upper north shore in 1991 on its 25 year anniversary.
Murray Lennon, of Ku-ring-gai SES, said he had never seen anything as powerful in his 28 years of service.
“I looked out the window and saw this black green cloud and thought this doesn’t look good,” he remembered.
“The next minute it is ripping through the north shore ripping up trees and tearing up buildings.
“It was by far the worst storm I have seen — without a doubt. Beyond imagination.

It's been many years since I've seen those classic dark green storm clouds. I saw quite a few as a kid. Hail wasn't usually far away.

91 , I had never seen a sky turn green before that day, I've never seen it again and I don't want too.
Here in Albury today we have only had some rain .not much! Funny how the world works we need the rain up this way too., It's been so dry everything is dead or looks dead anyway

If the weather forecast is to be believed, it's on way. It needs to slow down a bit though, up here anyway. Floods will fill the dams quicker but cause other issues.
I want to go camping soon. Where-ever I end up going I am sure to take a few clouds with me. More often than not it rains when I go camping and it takes me a few weeks to dry everything out when I return home.
