Very hard to pick the "right" time to sell. If you watch every sale over a period of time you might notice a price movement trend, otherwise you rely on who happens to be looking on the day you want to sell and how much they are prepared to fork out.

Those prices seem extraordinary. Both sets are not rare. I agree with Pete, it would be a shame for prices to skyrocket as most of us are not interested in the $ value, but the 'fun factor 'of restoring them. Maybe they were purchased for a movie set?

Funny you say that... I received an e-mail about three weeks ago asking me to assist with the purchase of televisions for a film. The sender wanted my phone number, which I do not give out to people I don't know, nor do I answer any e-mail from gmail.com unless I know the person due to the amount of spam and tricks that come from that domain.

The sender also requested details of those I know who collect televisions. This request was refused because it is against the site's policies and in the interests of fair play, the administrator is just as bound by them as all members are. Where this bloke got my e-mail address from is anyone's guess.

Sounds like one of the crazies I heard from a few months back on my ebay site. he wanted a police checkable address just in case anything goes pear shape. I just told him I have a 100% rating and that's enough for him. I was later advised that this particular person goes around burning radio collectors houses down if they have nice gear that he doesn't have.

The police already know him very well. He was caught in the act some time ago trying to burn down a clubhouse in Queensland.
