Its ok Brad.

That Astor is now mine. The first thing I did when I got it home was to chop the cord. I also warned Ben the dangers of firing up old untested radio's.

Cheers.

No worries - just glad that ended well. Smile

I saw the lead earlier and it reminded me of that thread elsewhere on the site that showed several Ebay members describing radios with cords in similar condition and including words to the effect of "I plugged it in but couldn't get a sound" Shock

I never heard back from Weee Ben, did anyone else manage to get in touch with him?

I went and saw him to pick up my two radios.
I guess his work is keeping him busy and his brief interest in the forums has died down.

I received the Hotpoint I was after, well packed and fast delivery, but I guess his mission was over when everything found a new home.

How did you get in touch with him? His email was always hidden. I'd still like to get the HMV.

I responded with interest in the Hotpoint through this forum and Wee Ben emailed me. It could be that he is no longer monitoring the forum, ref the posts from TV Collector and me.

Yep, some people are stayers and some just come for one purpose and that's about it for them.

Maybe he'll be back when he finds something else.
If he did actually offload the radios, then he knows where to come.

I guess if you email Gandhan perhaps he could let you know WB's email address, or let WB know that there is interest in the item.

He did say the HMV was his favourite so maybe he decided to hang onto it.

Hi i'm still floating around, yeah all items were sold, the HMV ended up on ebay.

Scraps: Your message was that your email was in your profile page but It wasn't there when I looked
so I figured you removed it so that's why I sold it elsewhere, would of been happy to send it to you.

I haven't gotten any interesting radio's lately so haven't had anything to add here, just a whole heap of CRT's and now that they are vanishing it's LCD's that i'm scrapping.

Anyyway, I can be found at http://scrapforum.com.au/.
