As wired image is correct.

Marcc: Again thanks. The thing in the clamp looks like a coil of some sort. It is connected at one end to the plate of the 6SK7GT.

I have uploaded a picture of this coil to

http://www.miramar.com.au/valve/Calstan529_1.jpg

There is no parts list that I have been able to find. If your reference to a 528 is the Calstan 528 schematic on Kevin Chants site then there are quite a few differences between the 529, 529X and 528 versions. The 528 has different valves, the choke is a different value just to name a few.

Tinkera123: The two 4μF capacitors appear to have been replaced with one 8μF capacitor. This capacitor appears to be much younger than the rest of the components and may be a later modification.

Cheers

Peter

Johnny: Which circuit are you referring to and can you point me to the exact capacitor you are talking about. In replacing the capacitors I have replaced them exactly as they were when I received the radio.

Cheers

Peter

Just be aware that the Calstan/Zenith schematics have been drawn by the AORSM, not the manufacturer, & often contain errors. Hence your filter caps showing the wrong polarity.

For those who have come in late, the AORSM is a 14 volume set of schematics for Australian radios made between 1937 & 1955.

A dreadful publication, but unfortunately it’s all we have for brands like Calstan.
