Hi Telftn

In Brad's first post in this thread, he noted that his email is not working, following the web site problems that have plagued him for a few months.
Hopefully he will be up and running again soon.

Harold

The mail server is a separate beast. The forums are back (I think except for the password retrieval service, which relies on the mail server to work correctly). When I can track down why the mail server will not relay correctly it will be back, along with password retrieval.

Unfortunately those raw messages tell the administrator what is not working but not why. Out of all major internet services, mail can be the trickiest because a balance has to be struck between getting things working and opening the server to spammers.

After looking at the logs and the thousands of automated attempts by spam robots to send s--- through the SMTP server every day, I have to be very careful with the settings to avoid my mail IP ending up on a blacklist.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Brad, please reach out if you need a hand in any way shape or form; happy to assist where possible.
Day to day job is keeping all the IT things ticking along, hosting, networking, development, etc.
Also manage (and host) personally mail & web systems for the family business - so none of this is foreign to me Smile

Cheers
Michael
