Had some fun with Chinese batteries at Coles yesterday. I was looking for a 6 volt lantern battery, and there were 3 brands available:
Duracell $12.70; Eveready $11.00, and Coles $5.00

A close look at them revealed they were all identical and made in China, most likely in the same factory.

Then I noticed some small LED torches "complete with batteries". Of the 6 for sale, only one worked. It was $5 so I bought it, and the old torch has been put into storage. Another incandescent device put out to pasture.
