Doubt very much if a postie would steal mail.
That would be very rare.
If a postie had sticky fingers his job would be gone very fast , very easy to trace .
I have a friend who is a postie and a collector and sometimes he would pop a wanted ad in the letter boxes of old houses.
Worked for the post office for 20 years and lost his job for popping a note in a box .

It's rare, but it does happen. Google "postie stole mail".

Having a whole street cop letterbox raids is the most common scenario.

Photos uploaded to Post 15.

Hoodies, trackies and the one on the right is wearing runners. Sadly, this is what most tea leaves wear because it makes them lighter on their feet.

Yep. I have a reasonable monochrome side view of the car they were in. Will talk to the cops tomorrow and see if they are interested in the footage, such as it is.

One not so amusing aspect of this video is that while they were rifling through our boxes, the security guard for the property next door arrived. They sat and watched him til he left.

Having a whole street cop letterbox raids is the most common scenario.

The business neighbour I spoke of told me that this pair used his parking garage to tear open the stolen mail, and left it all on the floor there. These guys must have been desperate/stupid/both. The likelihood of finding personal mail in an industrial area is low. It's mostly bills and other commercial material.

Regarding posties stealing mail, here's a recent one:

QUOTE: A West Australian postie who stole thousands of items of mail and buried half in the Tuart Forest National Park has dodged time behind bars.

Last year she stole almost 4,000 items of mail between May and July, some of which held driver's licences, credit cards, Medicare cards and other important documents.
