That date for valves is not as unusual as you may think. In the textile mechanical testing lab we had a "Yarn Evenness Tester". From memory, I believe Zellweger AG, Uster. It had a serious malfunction in the PSU (regulated of course). This was the early seventies. The recommended replacement was another valve unit in preference to Transistor. The likely reason being that at that time Transistors still had issues, especially in the area of leakage but more so I suspect, due to the detector being, I again suspect, HV capacitive and industrial valves were more suited.

Thanks Kakadumf and Marcc.
I think for old times sake and for the shear nostalgia Kakadumf you should get this. It would be a great talking point from its central location on the dining room table.
Kind Regards.
Jimb

Kakadumh.
Maybe you heard of the guy Tom Hardy. He had all this stuff his son is now trying to find homes for.Based in Wollongong NSW.
I know in my TV days we had a lot of connections from across the networks.

Jimb,

Hahahaha....IF that S& H Level meter made it to my dining room table I fear I would be in an instant divorce.

Lord knows now the boss is on my tail now to clear out the back shed of a lot of old cinema gear which now nobody wants and will end up in the scrap yard.

Had not heard of Tom Hardy at all which is not surprising as Telecom before it started to really downsize had over 90,000 employees across Australia and I spent more than half of my 40 years with them in country locations only moving back to the city fringes as kids needed good high schooling etc.

Best times by far were in the bush!!!

Lindsay
